The University of the Third Age is open to people who have reached their ‘third age’ – usually this means that you are retired or semi-retired and you are over 50 years of age.
U3A members take out an annual membership and then you can enrol in any class or lecture if there is a place available, and subject to Tutor interview if specified.
To become a member, you can click the Join U3A SurfCoast button and follow the prompts, or you can pick up and complete an enrolment form at Spring Creek House, 14 Price Street Torquay during school term. Please note, you must have an email address to use the online facilities.
The current membership fee is $60 per year. If you join us mid-year you pay just $35. If you are currently a financial member of another U3A, you can join as an Associate Member of U3A SurfCoast for an annual fee of $50. You can pay online - follow the prompts when you sign in or join up. Or you can drop the fee into Spring Creek House - please place the money in an envelope clearly marked with your name. If you need more help, there is a step-by-step enrolment guide here.
Once you become a member you can go to Members Log In at any time to join additional classes, check class times or venues, register an apology, renew your membership or update your details. You need your member ID and password to log in. If you have trouble logging in, go to the Contact Us page and send us a message, and we will get back in touch to help you.
To keep our U3A strong, we rely on the enthusiasm and commitment of volunteers, and new volunteers are always welcome. You can let us know that you are interested by sending us a message from our Contact Us page. You can volunteer to be a tutor or guest speaker, or help out with administration by joining the Management Committee or by helping out once or twice a month in the office.
Click on the button above or you can select a course first.
